Instagram Q&A

I asked you to ask me anything on Instagram and here are the answers!  Tried to keep these short, sweet and to the point.  I told myself I would answer 10 questions, but I think there are a few more than that :).

Q: What are you most proud of in your fitness journey?
A: Sticking with this new lifestyle for almost 2 years.  In the past I always “yo-yo” dieted and the difference now is that it’s lasting.

Q: Is it harder to stay on track with eating now that you are engaged?
A: Honestly, yes.  Stu and I were long distance for a while and during that time I was able to be more strict with my diet.  Now that he’s back, my lifestyle has changed which makes it harder to be strict.

Q: How is intuitive eating going?
A: I’ve slipped up the past few weekends since starting IE, but I don’t blame it on IE.  Honestly, I think I would have slipped up and fallen to temptation even if I was counting macros.  Stay tuned for a more in-depth blog post covering my IE experience!

Q: Favorite movie?
A: Troy.

Q: How do you stay motivated?
A: I know what it takes to look and feel good.  I truly feel better inside and out when I eat right and exercise regularly.  Try to be your own motivation!

Q: How do you deal with sugar cravings?
A: I eat dessert every day 🙂 .

Q: When you count macros, do you count vegetables?
A: YES!  If you have specific goals you need to account for everything you eat.

Q: What’s your current goal?
A: Maintenance.  I might try to cut a little bit at the beginning of 2019 so I feel super confident on my wedding day!

Q: What’s the heaviest you’ve ever been?
A: I think it was in high school at about 155 lbs.  When I started this fitness journey I was 145 lbs.

Q: How often do you weigh yourself when intuitive eating?
A: Still every day.  The scale is a tool for me to see overall trends.

Q: Do you run everyday?
A: Nope, just twice a week.  You can see my full exercise schedule here.

Q: How long did it take you to get used to counting macros?
A: I knew nothing about macros when I started, so it took me about 3 weeks to really get it down.  It will be difficult at first, but my biggest tip is to plan ahead and stick with it.  It does get easier!

Q: What was the change that was most effective in you slimming down?
A: Diet.  Don’t get me wrong, exercising is also important, but diet will be 75% of your results.

Q: Do you only do BBG?
A: I incorporate BBG, running and cycling!  You can see my full exercise schedule here.

Q: What time do you go to bed?
A: 9:30 p.m.

Q: How do you know if your macros are right?
A: I highly recommend using a coach so that you get a custom set, rather than an online calculator.  I trust Josh Ledbetter 110%.  The beauty of macros though is that if you feel like they aren’t working for your goals, you can always adjust them.

Q: Have you ever considered becoming vegetarian/vegan.
A: Nope.

Q: How long on average does someone do a reverse diet?
A: Seems to me (although I’m not a professional) that it’s no more than 6 months.

Q: How did you meet your fiance?
A: At a bar through mutual friends 🙂 .

Q: What helps you enjoy sweets regularly without overdoing it?
A: PORTION CONTROL!  I eat dessert every single day, but I keep the portions in check so it doesn’t blow my calories/macros for the day.

Hope that was informative and helpful for you!  Feel free to leave any other questions in the comments section.  Happy Monday!
