I love looking hot when I workout. Is that vain? In college I always heard “dress well, test well” and I firmly believe that applies to your workouts also! If you feel good, you will be more confident and put more into your workout, thus achieving your goals. Follow my logic? 😉
That being said, I am also a self-proclaimed frugal shopper! I am always scouting for sales and love nothing more than scoring great pieces at low prices. Seriously…it gives me this weird satisfaction and pride knowing I got a great deal!
Below are some of my favorite ways to score athletic apparel at lower prices. I’ve listed all my top tips and tricks below.
The easiest way to save on your favorite brands is to shop at discount retailers like Marshall’s and TJ Maxx. You’ll have to go to the actual store as opposed to shopping online, but you can really find amazing deals on name brands like Nike and Under Armour. Marshall’s also carries one of my favorite discount brands, 90 Degree by Reflex. This brand is already really low-priced, so the savings are huge. I can get an entire outfit (sports bra and leggings) for around $35!
One of my favorite sporting goods stores, Academy, has their own line of athletic wear called BCG. Think of it like buying the grocery store brand of yogurt as opposed to Yoplait – it’s essentially the exact same product, just way less expensive! Academy has locations all over the country, but is headquartered here in Houston, TX and I love supporting local businesses.
Side note – usually name brands are ALSO cheaper when you buy at a sporting goods store as opposed to the brand’s website.
Check out the websites of your favorite brands periodically and sign up for emails! You’ll be the first to know about sales and promo codes. I always have things in my cart on the Nike website so that when I see a sale, I can snatch up what I’ve had my eye on for a while.
If you have an outlet mall near you, you can score HUGE savings. Usually the items there are “last season” but let’s be honest, does it really matter when it’s workout gear? You can only change the style of leggings so much…
This is a perk I only discovered recently. If you are a My Fitness Pal user, every couple of months you get rewarded for logging foods. All you have to do is log consistently, and you will receive an email for $40 off when you spend $100 or more on Under Armour gear. That’s a 40% savings!
I’ll be honest with you I haven’t actually tried this yet, but the idea intrigues me. Ebay has sooooo many brand new items that are severely discounted. I’m thinking about trying it out as a test to see how it works. Have you jumped on the Ebay bandwagon? I would love to hear your experience!
