You know how they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day? Well, yeah, cuz it kind of is!
Think about it – your breakfast is the meal that jump starts your body for the day ahead and sets the tone for everything else you eat. But it can be hard to know WHAT to eat for such an important meal. You want a good balance of carbs and protein, as well as some healthy fats. And of course you want it to be quick and easy. Since I do a fasted workout before breakfast, it’s extra important that I have a nutritious meal.
Check out some of my favorite breakfasts below! I hope this helps give you some ideas. You definitely do not have to eat the same thing every day. There are so many fun ways to mix it up and stay satisfied 🙂 .
Sweet Protein Oats
Ah my absolute favorite and the old stand by! I could eat this for every meal, every day and to be honest this is my preferred breakfast 85% of the time. There are so many ways to change up the flavors! Check out this blog post for the recipe and even more ideas for toppings.
Savory Protein Oats
These are great for when you can’t decide if you want oatmeal or a more traditional breakfast! Just make the protein oats as normal, but instead of topping with something sweet, you can top with something savory.
Scrambled Eggs and Egg Whites with Turkey Sausage
If you are looking to save up your carbs for later in the day, this is the breakfast for you! Try adding egg whites to your scrambled eggs for an added protein boost. I also top them with Trader Joe’s Everything but the Bagel seasoning. Y’all – this seasoning is LIFE CHANGING. Run and get some if you don’t already have it!
Avocado Toast with Egg Whites
I’m definitely late to the avocado toast game. Before counting macros, I seriously limited my avocado consumption because I was afraid of fats. Now that I understand how to fuel my body properly, I eat fats without feeling guilty!
