We have all been there…you’re sitting alone in the airport with an hour to kill before you board and you’re famished. You haven’t eaten a real meal all day and your stomach is GROWLING. Your options are candy at the news stand or junky fast food. And when you don’t have options, temptation STRIKES!
I’m flying out for the Thanksgiving holidays today and boy do I have a FULL day of travel ahead of me! I’m leaving for the airport this morning and won’t arrive in Connecticut until almost 9:00 tonight 😦 .
It is so tempting to let the “vacation eating” mentality start now, but I know I need to stick to my normal eating plan today and tomorrow so that I can truly indulge on Thanksgiving. None of the snacks I packed require refrigeration, microwaves, or intense prep. They’re all easy to pack and grab!
Let me walk you through what I’ve planned out and hopefully you can get some inspiration for your upcoming travels.
You’ll see that I am pretty much snacking all day as opposed to having big meals. I get so bored sitting alone in airports that eating becomes my favorite activity 🙂 .
7:30 a.m. – protein oats with chocolate sauce (not pictured, eat at home)
9:45 a.m. – Greek yogurt (not pictured, eat at home)
11:45 a.m. – boiled eggs and ham slices
1:45 p.m. – roasted almonds
3:45 p.m. – RX bar
5:30 p.m. – tuna sandwich
7:30 p.m. – apple with powdered peanut butter
